Norwegian-Bulgarian Business Group holds meeting with partners

The Norwegian-Bulgarian Business Group held a meeting with its members which took place at the Residence of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sofia. The event was hosted by the Norwegian Ambassador H.E. Guro Katharina H. Vikør, and attended by representatives of Telenor, Bulgarian and Nordic business, as well as official guests.

‘The establishment of the Business Group provoked broad interest among Bulgarian and foreign companies from various sectors of the economy. Two months after the official launch of the organization, our members are some of the leading companies in areas such as agriculture, eco fuels, IT solutions, telecommunications, project management, etc.’, – said Mr.Stein-Erik Vellan, Chairman of the Norwegian-Bulgarian Business Group and Chief Executive Officer of Telenor. He expressed satisfaction with the fact that all these successful and established companies are partners of the association and share common values and vision.

‘I believe that the business environment in Bulgaria needs such an organization as it can be a positive incentive for the development of the companies who operate and invest in the country. One of the leading roles of the Business Group will also be focused on promoting core Norwegian values such as transparency, open dialogue and zero tolerance towards corruption.’ – H.E. Guro Katharina H. Vikør commented.

Association members can be both Bulgarian and Norwegian firms, as well as state institutions, organizations and NGOs. The membership in the Group will allow them share experience, ideas, useful contacts and get support for their businesses.

The companies which are willing to join the newly formed Business Group need to fill in a specific application form and pay the respective membership fee for a period of one calendar year. The membership fee is defined by the number of company’s employees and varies from BGN 250 to BGN 1500.

The Norwegian-Bulgarian Business Group was established in 2015 as a non-profit organization with the support of Norwegian Embassy in Bulgaria and Telenor. The mission of the Business Group is to support and protect the economic interests of its members and to assist their development with knowledge, networking and know-how. The Norwegian-Bulgarian Business Group is open to all legal or physical individuals/entities which participate in the economic life of Bulgaria and share the common principles of the Group.
